Here's the tile I did last night after work (I challenged myself to DO one a day, not to POST one every day):
Flux (again): I like Flux, and I'll draw out the steps a little later.
Shattuck: Vicki Murray's tutorial really helped me with this one!

All of these are Official Zentangle tangles. Also check Linda Farmer's tanglepatterns.com for additional links for these patterns.
I DON'T want to step on anyone's toes, or appropriate anyone's piece of the Zentangle pie. I'm certainly not trying to re-invent any wheels.
I gratefully acknowledge Rick and Maria's Zentangle Newsletters; Sandy Bartholomew's Beez in the Belfry blog, her "Tangle Patterns of the Week," and her numerous awesome books; Linda Farmer's tanglepatterns.com; Laura Harms' I am the Diva and her inspiring Weekly Challenges; Genevieve Crabe's Weekly Roundup of tangle patterns and related publications, and so many other inspiring artists and students.
Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to update my "Favorite Blogs" list, to share some of those inspirations with you.
My intention is to challenge MY artistic self, and to share my Process and my Journey with anyone who is interested.
Blessed Be and Joyous Tangling!

"officially zentangle tangles" - this is the sad thing about zentangle, something which could have been totally awesome. The over-obsession with copyright is ridiculous. Yeah, give credit, yeah, share links, but because you want to, not because you feel guilty or worried people will yell at you.
ReplyDeleteJust remember next time you get worried about using a design that you are drawing with ink on paper - something people have been doing for thousands of years. If someone gives you grief they're clearly just out to stop your art and fun from happening.
Thanks, Leah. I Really Did just intend to give credit where due. I think most "Tanglers" are glad to share their tangle patterns, and I want to honor and acknowledge the work of others who have taught & inspired me!
DeleteI am not "worried," just respectful.
